This finely-crafted glass is a reproduction of a mid 18th century Jacobite Dram Glass.
In the aftermath of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, followers of the outlawed Stuart cause met in secret to honour the defeated Prince Charles Edward Stuart and toasts were drunk to the "King across the water".
The royalty of the Jacobite supporters is legendary, Despite the price of ?30,000 on his head - a king's ransom in 1746! - none was tempted to betray the Prince during his flight to safety in France.
