Gin Distiller Jonathan Nelson is the co-founder and distiller at The River Test Distillery, located in Hampshire, England. Along with his wife Sarah, Jonathan started the distillery in 2017, inspired by the pristine waters of the River Test. Despite having limited experience in gin-making initially, they were motivated by the support from the gin industry and their unique location.
Jonathan’s approach to distilling combines traditional methods with modern technology, using an innovative iStill to create their award-winning gins. The distillery is known for its classic London Dry Gin, which features floral notes and is infused with handpicked meadowsweet flowers collected from the river banks beside the distillery. Their gins are crafted in small batches using pure chalk-filtered water from the River Test, ensuring a smooth and distinctive flavor.
